Pusia, Sissi, Maksymilian, Skarbunio, Różyczka, Rozalka, Łaciatka, Kocica... And the most diginified Pazurek… Anna Malicka Zamorska loves cats. For their grace, intellect and intuition. For their faithfulness and the constancy of their feelings... Anna Malicka-Zamorska sculpts cats. Modelled from clay, fired the colour of earth, or sometimes snow-white… they flash their blue porcelain eyes. Pugnacious, benign or fawning, they give the impression that they have interrupted  their playing or stopped hunting their prey for a moment…

(Un)real and (un) realistic. Kocica, Łaciatka, Rozalka, Różyczka, Skarbunio, Maksymilian, Sissi, Pusia… And the most diginified Pazurek…

Anita Bialic, exhibition curator

Motto:

So first, your memory I’ll jog
And say: A CAT IS NOT A DOG.

                                                           T. S. Eliot

Mysterious. Not  always nice. Sometimes sweet and accommodating. Sometimes mad. But always independent and...DIGNIFIED!!!!

I love DOGS, but adore CATS, as they demand our attention and adoration.

A cat’s purring sounds like sweet music, whilst the slightest contact with its fur feels like a genuine caress. A cat’s snarling can be terrifying, while its paws and teeth cut like razors…

There have always been cats in my home. Sometimes there have really been quite a few of them, but they have lived in harmony with each other and my canine pets.

The last of my cats, Pazurek, spent almost 20 years with me. He ruled over the household members and dogs. All the cats in the neighbourhood were terribly scared of him and avoided my garden like the plague.

Pazurek was the sweetest and the wisest cat in the world. He was my companion during my morning coffee break and used to play hide-and-seek. He chased mice and climbed trees. His favourite sleeping place was in my bed or in the drawer just by it.

I buried Pazurek a year ago. But he still wends hi sidle way around my home. When I fall asleep, I smell his fur on my pillow. „I’m here” – he purrs, when I spend too long sat in the studio at night.
