The Glass and Ceramics Centre, located in Kraków at 3, Lipowa Street, is an initiative of the Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials, Division of Glass and Building Materials in Kraków. It is a place which employs educational, teaching, exhibition and cultural activities to acquaint Cracovians and tourists with the history and technology of glass art.

  • Live demonstrations of glass being hand-moulded in a blast furnace
  • An exhibition and museum complex – a permanent exposition relating to the history and technology of glassmaking, which includes a collection of original tools used for the manufacturing of glass and a collection of antique glassware from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, as well as a collection of contemporary coloured glassware produced at Lipowa 3 from 1969 to 1998
  • A training centre for students from such institutions as the University of Science and Technology (general area of study: “Ceramics"; specialisation "Conservation and Revitalisation Materials") and the Academy of Fine Arts (the Faculties of Sculpture and the Conservation and Restoration of Art Works), including regular and lab-based classes on the production of glass, ceramics and building materials
