Krzysztof Rozpondek, "Closed" - new exhibition in Lipowa 3 Gallery
The art of Krzysztof Rozpondek seems to be art ‘not for our times’. It lacks gaudiness and belligerence. It does not provoke with its subject, and it does not attract the viewer with aggressive colours or unusual shape. Its analysis requires attention and sensitivity. At first glance obvious, after a closer look the Artist’s works surprise us with the depth of content and variety of their interpretation.
Krzysztof Rozpondek shows that in ceramics simple form in fact means thousands of variants and possibilities, just like toned colour or coarseness of texture. His sculptures mean clay, matter, weight, fire – all that is original and yet contemporary, and what is the essence of ceramics.
I invite everyone to visit the Lipowa 3 Gallery to admire the exhibition presenting the Artist's sculptures created over the last few years. It will be a unique opportunity to see the works of one of the most prominent contemporary Polish ceramic artists in Krakow. And in spite of the slightly perverse title, in the Gallery opening hours the exhibition certainly will not be ‘closed’...
