"Constantly on the way..." - Marita Benke-Gajda in Lipowa 3 Gallery
The technology of sculpture in ceramics is one of the most difficult ones that an artist has to face. However, there are fewer and fewer secrets of such a technology for Marita Benke-Gajda. For years, the Artist has been experimenting with the material, trying out different burning techniques. In her studio in Zabierzów near Krakow, there are a few dozen jars, put in a row on the shelves, with various glazes; she developed their recipes herself, and she also made each of them.
The example of Marita Benke-Gajda shows that the combination of vast technological knowledge and the ability to transfer that knowledge is the best way to make people aware that there is a piece of an artist in each of us, that each of us can try to deal with ceramics. For many years, the Artist has been guiding not only students fascinated by the ceramic material, but also small children or adults with no exceptional artistic talents.
The exhibition in Lipowa 3 Gallery presents both the latest and slightly older works by Marita Benke-Gajda – the Artist who is constantly on the way and has not yet said her last word...
